In 2023, ZEBRA's project "to respect + engage :: to educate + validate" was honoured with the award TrauDi! – the Styrian Award for Childrens' Rights.

In 2021, started "RESET" – a service conducted by psychologists, which offers counselling for people who suffer from exposure to war and violence.

In 2019, the voluntary pro bono legal service "BETRIFFT:ASYL" won a "Couragette" – der Grüne Preis für Graz in der category Human Rights and city life in solidarity.

In 2016, counselling for migrants for professional integration into the workplace – "Integrationspfad" – was expanded in AMS Graz East and West as well as towards regions in Styria. The offer includes qualification checks for refugees, support in finding a job, application trainings, and counselling in the first language.

In 2015, Intercultural Therapy was expanded: It is now also availabe in rural regions in Styria.

Charter for Living Together in Diversity in Styria: ZEBRA implemented a range of offers for supervising actions taken in favour of diversity across Styria.

ZEBRA started the offer "Living together in Shelters and Municipalites": Due to the long-standing cooperation with municipalities in Styria regarding the topics asylum, migration, and diversity, further projects such as "ZUSAMMENBRINGEN!" or "Altern in Vielfalt" could be realised.

In 2013, "Connecting People" was prized at the 10-year-anniversary of "TrauDi!" – the Styrian Award for Children's Rights.

ZEBRA permanently introduced the offer for counselling regarding the alien law, and furthered its' professional approach.

ZEBRA started to offer counselling regarding the recognition of qualifications received abroad – AST.

The center moved from Schönaugürtel to Granatengasse.

In 2011, the project "Stärkung für ältere Menschen mit Migrationshintergrund im familiären System" received the appreciation award within the "Frauenpreis" in Graz.

In 2010, ZEBRA received the "Dr.-Alexander- Friedmann-Award" for outstanding commitment in the work with traumatised refugees, survivors of torture, and migrants.

In 2007, ZEBRA received the Human Rights Award of Land Steiermark.

The project "Connecting People" received the "SozialMarie 2007", an award for groundbreaking welfare projects in Austria, and "TrauDi! 2007", the Styrian Award for Children's Rights.

In 2003 started "Connecting People" – a sponsorship project for refugee orphans.

In 2000, ZEBRA received the Second Award for Promoting Health by the European Commission for carrying out trainings for health care multipliers regarding migrants and refugees.

In 1997/1998 together with other organisations, ZEBRA brought the "Wehrmacht Exhibition" to Graz and organised a variety of seminars relating to the exhibition.

In 1995, the editorial staff of "zebratl" received the award for outstanding achievements in journalism by Land Steiermark for its' report on a "Third World".

In 1992 ZEBRA established the possibility to attend intercultural psychotherapy. It was developed based on the war in former Yugoslavia and traumatising experiences made by its refugees.

In 1990, the first issue of "zebratl", ZEBRA's own magazine, was published. It was edited until 2018.

ZEBRA started its work in 1987: it first provided services for integration into the labour market as well as legal councelling for migrants and refugees.

The association ZEBRA was founded in 1986. Founding members were invested in the human rights movement and part of Amnesty International. This commitment is a major part in ZEBRA's work until today.
